The High Country Association of Realtors® was awarded the RPAC President's Cup - Triple Crown at the recently held 2021 NC Realtors® Vision Quest. Accepting the awards were Michael Cooper, HCAR Governmental Affairs Director, and Bill Aceto, Federal & State Political Coordinator for the NAR/ NCR’s REALTOR® Political Action Committee. The award is presented to Associations who achieve over 100% of their projected RPAC donation goal for the year and who meet or exceed a participation rate of 37 percent. HCAR exceeded the projected donation goal, which was $13,671, by reaching a total donation of $22,029. Our participation goal was also surpassed, with 40 percent of our members donating to NCR PAC.
RPAC (REALTORS® Political Action Committee)  is the only voice specifically focused on protecting North Carolina’s real estate industry. The NC REALTORS® Governmental Affairs team are the leading advocates at the local, state, and national levels. Through legislative and regulatory engagement, political involvement, political fundraising through NC REALTORS® PAC, and consumer outreach through the NC Homeowners Alliance, the REALTOR® voice is there to protect YOUR business and YOUR industry.
RPAC has been involved in North Carolina Legislature for over 100 years. The committee monitors Federal Issues, State issues, Local Government affairs, regulatory affairs, economic development, calls for action, voting, and property rights. RPAC has contributed to the following issues: opposition to transfer taxes, impact fees and the state-wide deed stamp tax. Protecting Private Property rights. Promoting housing affordability. Protecting homebuyers from predatory lending and mortgage fraud. Fostering a healthy, vibrant real estate market and opposing over-zealous regulations, and much more.
