January 3, 2014, 9:12am
The High Country is known for its cold winters ... eventually. After a mild start to the latest iteration of the season, a few inches of snow blanketed the area on the third day of the new year. All the white stuff is due to single digits temps, with severe lows at the peak of 5,945-foot Grandfather Mountain.
