The sights of a High Country Christmas

There's nothing like a community Christmas celebration to add some joy to the holiday season.
The annual Boone Christmas parade featured several dozen entrants, and attracted a crowd of several hundred to the downtown King Street area.
The holly, jolly atmosphere continued that evening in Banner Elk, which held its annual Christmas in the Park celebration. It included its own parade, as well as ice carvings and other events.
A week earlier, Blowing Rock held its annual parade.
There are several great Christmas events which take place annually in the High Country, including the Festival of Lights at Chetola, the live, drive through Nativity scene at Poplar Grove Baptist, the Studio K Nutcracker Ballet, Moravian Lovefeast at First Presbyterian Church and plenty of skiing.
