Most high schools have a marching band. And a concert band. Maybe a jazz band. But how many do you know with a steel drum band?

Ashe County High School's Cans and Pans Steel Drum Band is a popular musical group in the area. It performs at local festivals, such as Christmas in July. It also appears at Carowinds and, in 2008, at Walter Reed Medical Center in DC.

The band played at Jefferson Park last Saturday. Among the songs was Eleanor Rigby. Stages don't come much prettier.
