The town where Christmas is celebrated year round

Last year "Our State" profiled the town of West Jefferson, home to the hallmark of the holiday season. That being, of course, Christmas trees. Often even before the first snow, the trees begin their annual mass exodus from the area. They're bringing joy to good little boys and girls all over not just the state, but the nation's capital.

The success of the tree market is celebrated 180 degrees from the holiday, when the temperature is not frightful but fry-ful. "Christmas in July" started more than 20 years ago to promote the industry, and is now a major event each year in West Jefferson.
