High Country is always open for a hike

Nothing clears the mind or works the body like a trek through God's country, whether it be off the Parkway, in the shadow of Mount Jefferson or around the greenway in Boone. These trips are common when the weather is agreeable. Summer and fall are peak times to take a peek at what nature is offering. But even in the winter, with snow all around and icicles pointing down, High Country hikes still abound, as one couple recently proved. Ol' man winter can't shut down the always picturesque Grandfather Mountain profile trail.
